Default Calling out your energy

Maybe it's just me, but when ever some one calls out their energy during the midsts of a battle, I have a hard time trying to shuffle through the party finding that guy to give him a face full of BiP.

So what I'm suggesting is when you ctrl+click on your energy, it calls a target on yourself. So all I have to do is hit "t" to auto target him and use what ever skill I need instead trying to find the guy.

Would make my life alot easier.

yea, but maybe instead of T, maybe another key for teammates. That way it doesn't screw up any of your attackers. Great Idea! I love it! Same thing for health too eh? Maybe when you call you health out same thing? That way it can help your healers too!

You dont need that for healers. They can see your health bar.

You would need another key instead of T for it to work. But good idea, or perhaps being able to see energy bars as well.

READ!! He/she meant ENERGY..

great idea. I'd like another hotkey and/or icon (maybe a blue one instead of a red one) to distinguish between calling target and needing help.

You should read, or just not yell at people.

Anet should also do something about how to see what conditions, hexes and enchantments each ally has. Now there is just brown, pink and green triangle. Removing critical hexes and conditions is hard because there is no way to know what each ally has. Also there is no quick way to find out, who's enchantments have partially dropped. Yes, you can call what hexes and conditions you have but finding right player target takes too much time if several calls their status.

A player can only have 1 target. So, haven't tried, but perhaps "CTRL+F" would work. Still clumsy. Oh, and a side note, you don't have to hit "T" to select the called target. There is a target icon next to each party member's name, which you can click on. Comes in handy in those moments where multiple players call different targets.

BEST answer to your problem, is to DISPLAY ENERGY BARS. Why can we only see allies' health? Or for that matter, why can't we see our target FOE's energy? There are way too many energy-related spells, attacks, and enhancements to ignore my question. WHY?

...sorry for the caps. REALLY.

A targeting key for allies would be excellent. It should be usable whenever an ally reports anything about her status - health, energy, status effects, whatever.

That's exactly what I was saying. I know that healers can see the health bars. So why not, if we are going to have a targeting key for when someone calls out their energy, why not do it for health too? A targeting key for allies would work great. Health or energy!

I'm just saying, it should apply to more than just health and energy. e.g., "I have Blind on me!" "I have Fragility on me!" That sort of thing.

But.. someone pinging their energy is the same as someone informing me that they have blind on them.

My problem with the energy targeting is this: As a monk, if I'm calling a target, it means I need help NOW! or the team looses healer/guy they need to keep alive during mission... if I now ping that I'm low on energy and it comes up as target.. wouldn't that confuse my team?

I know this is not WoW but they had a nice system even without using mods. Any bad condition would show an icon with tip in the group window under the health/mana bar of the person and selecting any one group member would show all conditions in icons. As for energy calling why not just show the energy bar under the health bar then that person can be selected with a hotkey.

Sorry, I missed your post above. Yep, no matter who says it, it makes sense.

I also searched forever for a group/mob buff/conditions bar when I first started playing. I couldn't believe there wasn't one.

What would be much better is.....just to show (narrower perhaps) blue energy bars below the health bars in the party window. This would solve the problem this thread is about, and also help the party see when it's ready to move on from regen without the elems having to keep calling their energy, and would show for instance when a monk's energy was runnin low and you needed to be careful for a bit. It would also show warriors just how long it takes an elem's energy to recharge, so they wouldn't charge off so fast (you can tell which class i play).

Ah, i see someone else wrote this idea above. oh well, consider this in support of it then

What a terrible idea, oh I forgot, 3/4 of the players in this game have no idea what hitting T does or what a called target is. So allocating this key for the 0.5% of players using BiP or Ritual won't make much difference.

A better idea would be to show energy levels in color on the party member bars. Changing the bar color for posion and degens isn't that helpful just use a couple more down arrows of the appropriate color instead. Show life in red, energy in blue and purple where they overlap.

That way the whole party can see when someone is having energy problems and when they have recovered.

How come the Henchie know when to give Ritual - is he psychic?
